Babbitt bearings

Reconditioning, deburring and manufacturing

We recondition, re-babbitt, and manufacture radial and axial bearings, utilizing advanced metallizing techniques (centrifugal casting, static casting, TIG welding) to ensure a strong bond between the steel, bronze, or gray/nodular iron backing and the babbitt. The chemical compositions and mechanical properties comply with the ASTM B-23 Technical Standard and its equivalents.

  • Bearings for crushers, mineral, cement and aggregate mills.
  • Stuffing boxes, stern tube bushings, and bearings for naval vessels.
  • Pedestal bearings, generator, shoes and axial skids for hydroelectric plants.
  • Fluid pumps, compressors, motors, fans, reducers.
  • Winches for mineral hoisting in underground mining.
  • Bearings for locomotives and railway cars.
  • Steam, hydraulic, wind and gas turbines.
  • Rubber, aluminum, brass laminators.

Services include:

  • Evaluation of the structural and dimensional integrity of the backrest.
  • Centrifugal casting and machining up to 75” diameter.
  • Ultrasonic adhesion certification in compliance with Technical Standards.
  • Penetrant liquid testing to detect cracks and porosities.
  • Leakage testing for the backing or cooling coil.
  • Technical report of the process.
